MINNEAPOLIS _ Tom Izzo was extraordinarily philosophical the day after Michigan State lost the chance to become the seventh team in college basketball history to repeat as NCAA champions.
It's understandable. Izzo and the Spartans have plenty of questions to ponder in the off-season, which happens when a defending national champion ends the season with a 19-point loss on the biggest stage in college basketball.
How the Michigan State program will fare next season depends on the answer to two questions:
Who's leaving?
Who's coming?
Michigan State could lose two underclassmen to the NBA draft. Sophomore swingman Jason Richardson and freshman Zach Randolph are considered potential NBA lottery picks. But if they stay, the Spartans could have a team capable of returning to the Final Four.
