MINNEAPOLIS _ Arizona's Richard Jefferson, Gilbert Arenas and Jason Gardner worked as counselors at Michael Jordan's basketball camp in Las Vegas last summer. So did Mike Dunleavy of Duke.

It didn't take long for some good-natured chirping to begin.

"We were kind of going back and forth," Dunleavy recalled Sunday. "They were saying, `(Dick) Vitale will have Duke No. 1 because he loves Duke.' I said, `You guys have an all-NBA starting five.'"

All kidding aside, the players wondered what would happen if the Blue Devils and the Wildcats could get together for a little scrimmage. Nothing formal. Just 10 guys, two buckets and one basketball.

They'll find out Monday night in the Metrodome.

"Now we have a one-game scrimmage," Jefferson said. "It just happens to be for the national title."

They've been attached to each other since the first preseason magazines hit the newsstands last autumn_Duke and Arizona, Arizona and Duke.
