WASHINGTON _ President Bush argues that the nation's economic problems began on his predecessor's watch, but analysts say sooner or later they will all belong to him.
And while most Americans aren't blaming Bush for the stock market slide and other storm warnings, critics and supporters said that if the slowdown continues, it's just a matter of time.
Voters "don't really give a lot of credit when the economy does well, but they sure do assign blame," said Karlyn Bowman, who analyzes polls for the American Enterprise Institute.
