There has not been a woman competing on a regular basis in NASCAR's big leagues in a dozen years and not one who has tried to be a regular in two decades.
Then again, there hasn't been one like Shawna Robinson in quite a while, either.
"I've been doing this for many years," Robinson said Wednesday in announcing her plans to run on the Winston Cup circuit. "I've been involved in racing for many years, since 1983 and really since 1988 in the NASCAR world.
