Participants in the endeavor, called the Consortium for Electric Infrastructure to Support a Digital Society (CEIDS), include power providers and electric reliability stakeholders. Manufacturers of digital equipment, companies whose productivity is dependent on high reliability, and industry trade associations are invited to join.
According to Karl Stahlkopf, EPRI's vice president, Power Delivery, CEIDS is the second phase of a two phase national effort to improve overall power system reliability.
