PHILADELPHIA _ Conjoined twins were in serious condition Thursday after being successfully separated during marathon surgery at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. The operation, which took nearly 24 hours, left the seven-month-old girls acutely ill, with unstable vital signs, a hospital spokeswoman said. Hospital officials would not discuss the case further and the family declined to be interviewed.
