TCU lucky to have Billy Tubbs.(Knight Ridder Newspapers)
FORT WORTH, Texas _ The Billy Tubbs whispers have started again, and, if you're one of those whose lips are moving, two words to the wise:
Stop it.
Just stop it now.
You know what I'm talking about.
It's time to make a change, the whispers say. Put a new face and a new voice in place before the Frogs move on to Conference USA next year.
Billy takes too many chances with borderline characters is another charge. They point to the two starters Tubbs dismissed last week, allegedly for failing drug tests, more than once.
He's losing it, goes yet another whisper. The only way Tubbs can get the Frogs into the NCAA dance is to win the WAC tournament next week in Tulsa, Okla., and fat chance that's going to happen. The Frogs, 18-10 heading into tonight's game at home against UT-El Paso, might not even get a sniff from the NIT.
