Feb. 9--St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Granite City said that it is closing its home health and outpatient chemotherapy departments because of continued reductions in reimbursements and increased regulations from Medicare and private insurers.
The change will eliminate about 35 full-time and 25 part-time jobs. The nonprofit hospital, sponsored by the Sisters of Divine Providence, has about 900 employees and is a major employer in Granite City.
