That's the way Vince McMahon and the XFL braintrust see it _ and who is Dan Goodspeed to argue?
So the former Lake High and Kent State football player is preparing for his shot at the "Mad Dash." Goodspeed is 300 pounds of rolling thunder, an offensive lineman for the Orlando Rage of the XFL.
At some point this season, he might be asked to line up 30 yards across from an opponent and run full speed to retrieve a football placed at midfield. Whomever gets the ball gets the choice whether to kick or receive.
What about the choice of Tylenol or Aleve?
"Every week, they are going to pick players from different positions to go after the ball," Goodspeed said. "Yeah, it could make for some serious collisions, but I'd love to get out there and do it."
Such is life in the XFL _ where the rules and the way America watches football are about to change.
