Tired of winter? Let these new, nifty houseplants soothe your cabin fever:
_Anthurium Purple Plum. Attractive, glossy, dark-green foliage produces lots of little purple spathes that stand high above the foliage. The plant grows 24 inches tall and wide; likes rich, organic, well-drained soil that is kept moist but not constantly wet. Give it bright, filtered light.
_Anthurium Gemini. Full, bushy plants with deep pink blooms; low light; minimum temp. 50 degrees F.; wet/dry cycle.
_Dracaena Ricki. Low, narrow, variegated leaves; slow-growing plant; medium light indoors; summer outdoors in part sun; wet/dry cycle; minimum temp 50 degrees F.
_Pothos Neon. Bright yellow leaves; easy-care; low-medium light; wet/dry cycle; minimum temp 60 degrees.
_Schefflera Nova. Interesting long, narrow, shiny, dark-green leaves grow upright to 72 inches tall and 40 or more inches wide. Give it indirect light and rich, organic, well-drained soil; keep the plant moist but not constantly wet.
_Coffee tree. Exotic indoor plant, slower grower, rarely produces flowers or berries indoors. Likes strong indirect light; dislikes full sun. Maintain temperature in low 70s during day, high 60s at night. Feed monthly with acid fertilizer during active growth. Prune to any shape desired. Propagate with tip cuttings.
