SEATTLE _ As Bulls coach Tim Floyd sat courtside and alone with his thoughts long before Thursday's tipoff, Starbucks Chairman Howard Schultz approached him, seemingly out of nowhere.
The two men exchanged pleasantries, from which Floyd learned Schultz has a son named Jordan.
Unfortunately for Floyd, Schultz, who heads a group of investors that bought the Sonics for $200 million, offered no financial advice. Unfortunately for the Bulls, no Jordan-like performances followed.
The end result? The Bulls tied a 25-year-old franchise record with their 13th consecutive loss, falling to the Sonics 97-91 despite a late rally in KeyArena. Their 6-39 record doesn't amount to a hill of beans, coffee or otherwise. The Bulls must win in Vancouver Saturday to avoid setting a new mark of futility.
Vin Baker led Seattle with 22. Ron Mercer led the Bulls with 30.
