DALLAS _ Ask them to explain why, and they can't.
They just know it's there, it works and it can be lethal. But they don't know how.
Kansas State quarterback Jonathan Beasley and wide receiver Quincy Morgan have had quite a couple of years together. They capped it off Monday by hooking up for two touchdowns and 145 yards during the Cats' 35-21 win over Tennessee in the Cotton Bowl.
Beasley-Morgan.
It might not be up there with Montana-Rice, Unitas-Berry or Aikman-Irvin as far as dangerous quarterback-receiver combinations, but their pairing worked out well for K-State.
Beasley and Morgan dominated the Cotton Bowl in the first half, which is when Kansas State established that its offense was going to be unstoppable. Though an ankle injury slowed Morgan down in the second half, he still finished with seven catches.
Beasley was named the offensive player of the game after passing for 210 yards and rushing for another 98, although he would have had 111 on the ground had he not been punished after chasing down a bad snap for a 13-yard loss in the fourth quarter.
