CHICAGO _ The Mexico City Vikings resisted yet another nickname change, refusing the suggestion "Conquistadors" just as they resisted the change to "Alamos" during their brief stay in San Antonio.

Owner Red McCombs, determined to move as far south of Minneapolis-St. Paul as his used cars will drive him, said he didn't care if Mexican fans can't identify with Vikings.

"There aren't many Rams in St. Louis either," McCombs said, "or Bears in Chicago or Lions in Detroit or Eagles in Philadelphia or Bengals in Cincinnati.

``And there are absolutely no Saints in New Orleans."

McCombs said he would have made a change only if coach Dennis Green …
