A showcase of winning entries from our first annual contest recognizing artistry in animation, graphics and effects created for dynamic business media

Judging by the submissions to our first New AGE Awards, the quality of graphics in corporate media is on the rise. Our judges--Peter Plantec, AVVMMP's monthly animation columnist, and Peter Weishar, associate professor of animation at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts--considered many salient features before choosing the following winners: Is the spot both stylistically and technically outstanding? Does it communicate its point? Does it engage the audience?

Based on the range of applications we received, Plantec and Weishar felt strongly that we should award a superlative that best reflected each winning entry's distinguishing qualities. For that reason, they did not choose a winner in each of our original categories. Merit alone was their guide.

We hope that, as your clients and portfolios grow, we will hear from even more of you during next year's contest. As Peter Plantec said in his recent column about the invisible corporate design team, we know you're out there. All of your great e-mails in response to Plantec's plea confirm this. Now we want to help you tell your story.
