Ansett Australia: Hal Thomas was named manager of international cargo for the Australian carrier, replacing Geoff Serbutt, who resigned effective last month. Thomas had been sales manager for international cargo at Ansett.

Grupo TACA: The Central American consortium named Alfredo Schildknecht chief operating officer. Schildknecht had served as Grupo TACA's vice president of maintenance and the president of Aeroman, the carrier's maintenance subsidiary.

LanChile: The carrier hired Juan Manuel Perez as sales director of North and Central America and Asia. Perez joins LanChile from British Airways, where he most recently served as manager of Chile and Bolivia.

Airborne Express: Chief Financial Officer Roy Liljebeck retired after 33 years in the finance department of the Seattle-based company. Liljebeck will be replaced by Lanny Michael, who was promoted from senior vice president and treasurer.
