Jul. 17--FORT WORTH, Texas--ALBERTSONS.COM WILL ADD CUSTOMER PICKUP SERVICE: Albertsons.com, the online shopping and grocery delivery service that the Albertson's chain debuted in Fort Worth in 1998, plans to add customer pickup at its Metroplex supermarkets, a spokeswoman said last week.

No start-up date has been announced.

The Boise, Idaho-based grocer has already initiated an in-store pickup service at its 36 supermarkets in western Washington, said Alycia Rican, a public relations agent for the company.

Albertsons.com told a trade journal previously that it also intends to add fresh produce and other perishables to its offerings for Metroplex …
