MIAMI _ When the call from the Basketball Hall of Fame finally arrived for Bob McAdoo, he was still too down from the Heat's playoff elimination to fully appreciate the honor.
"There was joy and pain," said McAdoo, who just completed his fifth year as a Heat assistant. "There was joy because of the election and still pain thinking about the other day."
The three-time NBA scoring champion's election becomes official today when this year's inductees are announced. Heat coach Pat Riley unwittingly jumped the deadline when he disclosed McAdoo's selection Tuesday.
