AUSTIN, Texas _ Hall of Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan was released from the hospital Friday, nearly a week after having double-bypass surgery to repair severe heart disease that threatened his life.
Ryan won't be able to drive for at least two weeks and won't be able to lift anything heavy for the next three months. The 53-year-old former pitcher with the Texas Rangers and Houston Astros left the Heart Hospital of Austin with his wife, Ruth.
