Families with children who have disabilities have a strong network in Nevada.
And come May, Nevada hopes to show off its pride to the world.
"We'll be hosting the 10th annual International Parent to Parent conference in Reno," says Cheryl Dinnell, director of family and consumer programs for the Nevada University Affiliated Program in Developmental Disabilities. "We'll have parents of children with disabilities come here to share ideas and skills from all over the world. Hopefully we'll have somewhere between 1,200 and 1,600 people."
The conference is planned for May 4-7.
Dinnell hopes it will be a chance for the state to show its commitment to families.
