The most incredible aspect of the White House sex scandal is the revelation that so many Americans actually believed President Clinton's original denial.

What else accounts for the eruption of outrage over Clinton's lame ``confession'' to having some sort of sex with Monica Lewinsky?

That people can still be shocked by a politician's lie is probably a healthy sign for this country. A little gullibility is forgivable in pursuit of an ideal.
