Jun. 10--The law firm of Katz, Kutter, Haigler, Alderman, Bryant & Yon -- one of Tallahassee's largest -- is getting bigger.
The firm is merging with the Orlando firm of Rosenbluth, Losey, Bittman, Morse & Keidaish, which has seven lawyers. Three of its lawyers will become shareholders in the Tallahassee firm, said Allan Katz, a founding partner.
The Orlando firm specializes in insurance, health care and banking. The lawyers there will continue to practice in Orlando. Emery Rosenbluth Jr. will be the managing shareholder.
The Tallahassee firm employs more than 100 people, including 44 lawyers. Just under half of the lawyers are shareholders in the company.
The Tallahassee firm made its reputation specializing in insurance issues. The firm represents companies such as Prudential Insurance Corp. and Humana, a large managed health care company in Florida. The firm also specializes in real estate, environmental issues and business and professional regulation by the state.
