Dec. 2--When PrimeCo Personal Communications launched its advanced wireless phone service a year ago, there was one big drawback for traveling customers: Its phones worked only in a limited number of cities where PrimeCo was a designated carrier.

Monday, the Westlake-based company said it is finally ready to give its 260,000 customers the ability to use their service as they roam into other parts of the country. But PrimeCo's current wandering wireless phone users will have to buy a new phone to enjoy the privilege.
