HOBART, Ind.--Oct. 24--Bay Furniture will complete its first expansion into Indiana when its fifth store opens along U.S. 30 next month.

"Our new Hobart showroom will serve our growing customer base at the southern end of the Chicago market," said Richard Slovy, a Bay vice president.

Slovy's grandparents, Joe and Rose Slovy, founded the home-furnishing business in Homewood, Ill., in 1939. The south suburban store also houses the corporate offices.

Slovy said the Hobart store will employ 20 people. It is set to open Nov. 1.
