Oct. 22--Sprint Internet Passport this week became the first major on-line service that guarantees its users will be able to connect to the Internet.

In a glitzy, multimillion-dollar campaign to expand the year-old Internet service, Sprint is guaranteeing its customers won't be stalled by busy signals when trying to get on the Net.

Busy phone lines have been a major problem for some computer users trying to connect to the Internet through overextended local service providers or America Online.
