GRAPEVINE, Texas--Oct. 21--Mills Corp. has launched a $1 million advertising campaign leading up to the Oct. 30 grand opening of its Grapevine Mills development.

The ads, which take a humorous poke at the size and scope of the project, portray the huge mall as a "powerful entity" that has the ability to draw people in and keep them, said Anne Lipscomb, group vice president of marketing for the Arlington, Va.-based Mills Corp.

In one of three, 30-second TV commercials, a man and his son stand before an entrance to Grapevine Mills, pleading with the building to let their wife and mother go: "Ten hours, it's enough," the man begs. The commercial then closes …
