Oct. 15--After a six-month search, Silver King Corp. appointed local media executive Alfredo Duran as vice president and managing director of its local television station, WYHS Channel 69.

Duran, currently the president and publisher of Sun-Sentinel's bilingual weekly, Exito, will move to Silver King Nov. 10 and prepare for the spring launch of the company's ambitious CityVision television concept.

The idea, developed by company owner Barry Diller and his staff, is built around quirky television programming that reflects local, rather than national, tastes. If CitiVision takes off in Miami, Silver King will roll it out in other major markets such as …
