Sep. 30--Tim Sear, who joined Alcon Laboratories 26 years ago, becomes the company's president and chief executive tomorrow, as Alcon veteran leader Ed Schollmaier moves into the post of nonexecutive chairman.

Alcon, a division of Nestle S.A. of Switzerland, first announced this series of senior management changes in May.

With more than $1.8 billion in annual sales last year, Alcon is a leader in developing and manufacturing ophthalmic products, including prescription drugs, contact lens solutions and other eye-care items.

The company, founded in Fort Worth 50 years ago, employs 9,500 around the world and about 2,500 in Fort Worth. …
