Aug. 27--Mrs Baird's Bakeries, convicted last year of criminal price-fixing, said yesterday that it will drop its appeal of the conviction in exchange for a federal amnesty that promises to close the book on its antitrust troubles.

The Fort Worth-based bakery said that under the terms of the deal it will still pay its $10 million fine and complete the 2,500 hours of community service assessed last year. But the agreement protects the bakery from additional court action involving any other past anticompetitive activities.
