Aug. 10--The U.S. Senate and House Committees on Small Business will hold a joint public hearing in Kansas City on Aug. 19.

"Fairness in Regulatory Enforcement" will be the topic of the hearing at the University of Missouri-Kansas City law school. Area entrepreneurs have been invited to testify, and written statements from the public can be submitted up to two weeks after the hearing.

Senate Small Business Committee Chairman Kit Bond, Missouri Republican, and House Small Business Committee Chairman Jim Talent, Republican of St. Louis County, will conduct the hearing. It will serve as a follow-up on legislation Bond wrote that was enacted into law in …
