Jun. 23--In the battle for monthly market share, Kansas City's Station Casino gained ground in May but again finished a disappointing and distant second to market leader Harrah's.
Although Station Casino outdrew Harrah's by almost 50,000 patrons, the Missouri Gaming Commission on Friday reported Station's adjusted gross revenue last month at $9.9 million compared with $13.3 million for Harrah's North Kansas City Casino & Hotel.
Though Station's May performance was weak against expectations, it was up from an even weaker $8.6 million in April. That resulted in the company's gaining 3 percentage points in market share -- at the expense of all four of its competitors.
