Jun. 18--The grounds at Kemet Electronics in Fountain Inn today will become the first industrial site in the state to be certified by the South Carolina Wildlife Federation as a wildlife habitat.

Kemet manufactures ceramic and tantalum capacitors, tiny electronic components used in cell phones, automobiles, computer boards and other appliances to store, filter and regulate electrical energy and current flow.

Representatives of local and state governments, environmental and wildlife organizations and other industries in the I-85 corridor are expected to attend the ceremony marking Kemet as the first W.A.I.T. site in South Carolina.
