May 6--As far as burger boosters go, the Delligatti men of Pittsburgh don't have the name recognition of Dave Thomas.
But the three generations of Delligattis are hamming it up in a new McDonald's TV commercial promoting 55-cent Big Macs -- the sloppy and sinful hamburger concoction that the senior Delligatti put together in his Uniontown restaurant on Friday, April 22, 1967.
The commercial, part of a series created by the Leo Burnett advertising agency in Chicago, isn't dripping with nostalgia. The camera pans rapidly from one generation to the next in a breezy gastronomic history lesson.
