May 2--Negotiations are nearing an end between Horry County, Myrtle Beach and a company that wants the two governments to build a baseball stadium for an Atlanta Braves farm team.
The County Council might vote Tuesday on whether to spend $5 million in taxpayer funds on a stadium so a Class A ball club, currently the Durham Bulls of North Carolina, can start playing in Myrtle Beach tentatively next year.
Members held internal discussions Thursday over negotiations between involving the county, city and Capitol Broadcasting Inc., the company pushing the stadium idea.
