May 1--A group of fed-up State Farm Insurance agents, including 18 losing their jobs today, is lashing out in a federal lawsuit that alleges the insurance giant is bullying its sales force as part of a strategy to boost its profits.
The civil complaint, filed in San Francisco federal court, alleges that State Farm trampled over the rights of its agents long before a recent imbroglio resulted in the firing of 24 agents who helped a Bay Area colleague funnel company donations to a small Nebraska college.
