Apr. 21--Officers of Union Pacific Corp. (UP) hoped for an upbeat report on its recent purchase of Southern Pacific railroad.

Instead, some shareholders and dissident employees made them squirm a bit Friday morning during a two-hour annual shareholders' meeting at the Little America Hotel in Salt Lake City.

The topic: the contentious issue of union organizing at another UP division -- Overnite Transportation Co.

Executives began the day greeted by more than 30 Teamsters Union organizers and Overnite drivers, picketing in protest of Overnite's alleged union-busting tactics.

Then, the confrontation moved indoors.
