May 10--An improving economy and a dreary winter up North helped the Myrtle Beach Jetport set the record for most passengers during the first four months of the year.
From January through April, 85,897 passengers boarded flights at the jetport, said Pete Winters, Horry County airports director. The jetport had 82,100 passengers during the same period last year.
"The airport is strong right now," Winters said Monday. The early months of the year have gradually become a larger portion of the annual number of passengers.
