More Than 1,200 Students Compete
More than 1,200 New Mexico students competed in speech, writing and listening contests on Saturday at the 10th annual English Expo.
Students from grades six through 12 around the state competed at La Cueva High School in 20 categories, from writing business letters to traditional storytelling.
The competition, founded in 1990 by the New Mexico Council of Teachers of English, is open to public and private schools.
