Nov. 3--One of the nation's largest construction companies, Tishman Construction Corp., has opened an office in Surfside Beach that will serve the entire southeast.

Tishman built the Epcot PCOT Center at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla., World Trade Center in New York, John Hancock Center in Chicago and The Century City Theme Center in Los Angeles.

Tishman is development and construction manager for a proposed $400 million, 900-acre theme park resort planned for the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base.

Timberland Properties Inc. of Surfside Beach is coordinating the resort's development.
