Teen collects help for others with can-do attitude

There's an aluminum can that Emily Sandall is quite proud of. She carries it around with her at school and at home. "The can" has become somewhat famous in her circle of friends.

It serves as Sandall's collection plate, if you will. She is currently raising money to send to organizations that are trying to abolish child labor in countries like Pakistan and Mexico.

"If she even spots loose change, she'll find out who it belongs to and then usually gets them to donate to her cause," says Eldorado journalism teacher Joan Goessl. "I think that can alone has raised nearly $1,000 for the plight of children…
