Santa Barbara County to Save $1M/Yr. on $2.9M Project
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- Santa Barbara County has entered the second phase of a county-wide retrofit project involving numerous projects that officials estimate will cut $1 million a year in energy costs from a total energy bill of $2.2 million.
Projects included in the county job will have a $2.9 million price tag when completed, according to Marlene Demery, director of public works for the county. The work ranges from system-wide lighting retrofits to EMS installations and air conditioner replacements in 1.5 million square feet of building space.
