Mass. Hospital Sees $38K/Yr. Savings From 6-Bldg. Lamp & Ballast Retrofit
Boston-- With the recent completion of an extensive lamp and ballast retrofit in six of its major buildings, the New England Medical Center here expects to reduce lighting expenses by over $38,000 per year, according to George White, mechanical engineer at the facility.
The reduced costs are in addition to rebates from both its utility. Boston Edison, and General Electric Co., manufacturer of the lighting products used, which cut almost $18,000 off the medical center's project costs. Payback for the retrofit is expected to be achieved in 3.5 years, White said.
