ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.--The New Mexico Industrial Energy Consumers (NEC) here has filed a petition with the the state Public Service Commission for incentive tariffs from the Public Service Co. of New Mexico (PNM), which if approved would discount demand charges by 75 percent and energy charges by 45 percent on new or increased loads of large industrial customers, according to Louis Campbell, an attorney representing the industrial consumer group.
The petition would affect large industrial customers whose loads equal or exceed 1,000 kilowatts--the minimum load required to qualify for the discount tariffs--a spokeswoman for the utility company affirmed.
