Two Applications Rejected by Panel
Albuquerque school board members approved eight applications for new charter schools on Wednesday.
That means Albuquerque Public Schools will soon have 35 charter schools with roughly 6,000 students enrolled.
That's a larger student population than most school districts in New Mexico.
Among the charter applications that received the board's blessing was La Promesa Early Childhood Learning Center. The school will seek to serve infants through third-graders.
