Lt. Gen. Andrew B. Anderson Jr., is the deputy chief of staff, plans and operations, Headquarters U.S. Air Force.
General Anderson was born in Rocky Mount, N.C., in 1926. He graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., in 1948 with a bachelor of science degree in military engineering and a commission as a second lieutenant. He attained a bachelor of science degree in aerospace engineering through the Air Force Institute of Technology in 1955 and a master of arts degree in history from the University of Nebraska in 1966.
