A recent Zogby poll clearly shows that a significant majority of Americans reject abortion in most circumstances, including women (56%), African Americans (62%), Hispanics (79%), and young adults (61%). In spite of this growing pro-life majority, Senator John Kerry continues to make it absolutely clear that he desperately wants to be the Abortion President.
So far Mr. Kerry has proclaimed there are two first things he will do if elected President: 1) reverse the pro-life Mexico City Policy, thereby forcing taxpayers to give money to groups that promote abortion overseas; and 2) use taxpayer dollars to pay for the killing of thousands of human embryos, in the name of research.
Mr. Kerry wants to force every taxpayer to subsidize abortion; he is devoted to keeping legal that hideous practice known as partial-birth abortion, voting for it six times; he says he will appoint only pro-abortionists to the bench; and he wants to export the cruelty of abortion to developing countries around the world.
He and his running mate, Senator John Edwards, are trying to advance their political careers on the broken bodies of children and their moms. That's pathetic. How sad, tragic, and dangerous that is to countless children and their mothers. Women deserve better than abortion, and children deserve the right to live.
Mr. Kerry and others should know that Americans, in ever-growing numbers, are finally coming to understand that abortion is violence against children and that abortion exploits and harms women.
Americans, at long last, are shocked to learn that abortion methods dismember, mutilate, decapitate, and chemically poison the child. The debate on the violence of partial-birth abortion has exposed the truth that abortion is child abuse in the extreme.
We have learned that during an abortion unborn children experience excruciating pain, more than an adult or newborn would feel in a similarly violent attack, because their skin is so sensitive and they do not yet have the capability to moderate pain input.
