1. Don't take for granted that your family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and other acquaintances are informed about where the candidates stand on this issue. Most Americans get their information about a particular candidate from television. Do we really want the biased pro-Kerry media outlets to have the only word on framing the candidates' positions on abortion? Certainly we can't reach the millions of American viewers each night as they do, but we can redouble our efforts and reach as many voters as possible with the truth. Talk to every single person you know. Make sure they are going to vote and make sure they are informed on this issue! Take the time to really discuss the realities of partial-birth abortion and the future of any respect for human life in our country.
2. Don't be misled by thinking your one vote (or the votes of all of your acquaintances) doesn't really matter! Many, many elections are won or lost by a relatively small number of votes. In 1960 John F. Kennedy defeated Richard Nixon by a handful of votes. JFK won because he received 1 MORE VOTE per precinct in Illinois (8,858 votes); 3 MORE VOTES per precinct in Missouri (9,880 votes); and 3 MORE VOTES per precinct in New Jersey (22,091 votes). Without those 40,829 votes, the election would have gone to Nixon. And in 2000 two states were decided by less than 1,000 votes - - Florida and New Mexico - - while two others were decided by less than 5,000 votes - - Iowa and Oregon. It has never been more ...
