When you're trying to be the best, sometimes it helps to shake things up a bit.
That's exactly what we did with this year's Best of Aquatics contest. For instance, instead of putting the onus on you to write up a nomination, we created entry forms. Instead of general categories in each industry segment, we created classes within each segment based on attendance. In making these kinds of improvements we hoped to create a more level playing field and encourage more participation.

By the time the July 30 deadline rolled around, we had received a record number of entries from all across the aquatics world including, for the first time, military bases and public waterparks.
As in years past, each entry was sent to a panel of judges (our sincere thanks to them all) who scored it on a 70-point scale. Facilities were judged on amenities and growth rate; program offerings; mission statements; training; how they met challenges; and community involvement.
