What are Hankook Tire's plans for the U.S. tire market?

In the short run, the Korean tiremaker will concentrate on working "internally" to improve the quality of its service.

That means quicker deliveries and more attention to customer requests.

That's why a new distribution center was opened in Chicago last year and another in Portland, Ore., is formally being dedicated this month.

By the end of the year Hankook will announce an agreement to furnish original equipment tires for cars built and sold in the U.S.

They will be for 2000 model vehicles not manufactured by a U.S.owned company.
