It's high time for assisted living.

That's the main conclusion of a new report released in late July by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging's Intra-Governmental Council on LongTerm Care. The report recommends that the state shift Medicaid funds from skilled nursing home care to make assisted living services available to Pennsylvanians of all income levels. Currently, assisted living is a private-market phenomenon in the state.
