IT seems that there are divisions emerging. Now the last time I said that--in fact the last couple of times I said that--I got into trouble. It seems that although the divisions (in whatever ranks) are unquestionably there, no-one wants it pointing out.

So at the risk of upsetting another set of readers, it seems that there are divisions emerging within the ranks of the would-be casino operators if and when we ever get this new Gambling Act.

Up to a year or so ago, the split within the gaming industry was between the street market and the casino business. That split has, if anything, widened with the government's tendency towards favouring the casino industry …
